Respon Pengguna Dalam Pemanfaatan Jembatan Penyeberangan Orang (JPO) Di Kota Pekanbaru

Pedestrians in carrying out their activities require supporting facilities so as not to conflict with the vehicle. One of them is JPO. There are 11 JPO in Pekanbaru City. The average age of the JPO is around 8 years old with a worsening physical condition. From the prasurvey results obtained an average of JPO users per day as many as 700 people on 5 JPO who became the study sample. This study aims to analyze user responses in utilizing JPO in Pekanbaru City. The population in this study is pedestrians who use JPO in Pekanbaru City. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling with a total sample of 100 respondents. The data analysis used is descriptive and quantitative methods using a simple linear regression model with SPSS version 21.
The results showed that the priority of user consideration in the using of JPO consists of five factors, namely the factor is safety security, comfortness, continuity and attractiveness. User responses in the use of JPO in Pekanbaru City are in the sufficient category. This is due to the condition of the JPO facility whose physical condition is alarming or below the user's expectations.
User response in utilizing JPO in Pekanbaru City can be improved by periodically monitoring and evaluating, and carrying out repairs and maintenance, especially for JPO which is most widely used by pedestrians. In order to overcome the limited Pekanbaru City government budget for repairs and improvements to the JPO, it is advisable to carry out a partnership program (outsourcing) with a third party for the management of the JPO. Besides that, it is necessary to consider adding JPO facilities for disabilities people.
