Kultivasi Mikroalga Chlorella Sp. Secara Fed-Batch Menggunakan Limbah Pome Untuk Produksi Lipid Dengan Penambahan Karbon
Microalgae Chlorella sp. isan unicellular green algae that have no roots, stems
and leaves. One of the methods for producing microalgae is the cultivation
method. Microalgae cultivation requires media containing enough nutrients.
POME has suitable nutrients content to be usedas nutrient and growth medium
for Chlorella sp. This research objectives were to determine the effect of POME
volume addition to the growth and lipid levels of Chlorella sp., to study the effect
of the Chlorella sp. addition on the value of COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) of
POME and to study the pH and temperature of the medium during the cultivation
process. The pretreatment of this research consist of some steps such as: raw
material preparation includes microalgae of Chlorella sp. culture then the
acclimatization of microalgae in POME. Furthermore, cultivated the microalgae
on POMEin batch and fed-batch. POME addition vary of 450 / day, 900/2 days,
1350/3 days. Test methods conducted werecell density test (thomacytometer),
COD level test, lipid test (Black Dryer) and measurement of pH and temperature
of the cultivation medium. Theoptimum growth and lipid levels of Chlorella sp.By
the addition of POMEfor every 3 days was obtained 5.02 x 106 cells / ml and the
POME addition for every 1 day is 45,45%. The addition of microalgae enabled to
reduce the COD up to 81.81% and the temperature and pH of the medium during
cultivation was around 27⁰C - 33⁰C and 8-8.95.
