Autentikasi Tumbuhan Kangkang Katup (Bauhinia Sp.) Berdasarkan Kandungan Metabolit Dan Aktivitas Antioksidan
Kangkang katup (Bauhinia sp.) is one important plant in Lingga Malay Ethnicpotion medicine in Riau Archipelago (Kepulauan Riau), and can also be found in Riau Mainland. This species has similarities with other species of the genus Bauhinia. Morphological examination cannot be carried out thoroughly because the flower and fruit organs are difficult to find. Authentication techniques using a chemical profile are needed. This study aim to authenticate Bauhinia sp. origin of Lingga with Bauhinia sp. from Arboretum and TAHURA and examine the value of their antioxidant activity. Samples were tested using the HPLC system and DPPH method by comparing standard chromatograms (quercetin and gallic acid) with sample chromatograms and calculating IC50 value. The results showed that each sample had an average retention time of 15 minutes (quercetin) and 10 minutes (gallic acid) with different areas. The results of the study also proved that the three samples had different standard compound. The highest quercetin dry weight level is owned by Bauhinia sp. TAHURA (1,6893 mg/g), while the highest dry weight level of gallic acid is owned by Bauhinia sp. Arboretum (758,9637 mg/g) with very strong antioxidant activity from other species based on IC50 value (2,1980 µg/ml). The authentication results prove that the three samples are different species which have very high antioxidant values.
