The fisherman society has always been identified as who has the lowest level prosperity on their standard of living. Unstable monthly income and almost depends their life from the sea just to meet their daily need, that is why they always go through their life in poverty. The fisherman got difficulty in catching the fish in abundant number and in good quality of the fish due to the unstable season of fish and the contamination of fish environment that could damage the ecosystem of sea, so that the result of caught by fisherman were dropped. Besides that the increasing of petroleum price has made the cost of living high, it makes the life of fisherman society becomes more difficult. To find out or to solve the above problem Corner in Kusnadi (2007:7-8) says that there are strategies of adapting which are always carrying out and developing by fisherman society to keep the continuity of their life. The purpose of this research that is to find out how is the approach of strategy done by the fisherman society in The Village of Kote Sub District of Singkep Pesisir District of Lingga in effort of reducing and solving the problem of poorness in their village. This research is using The Qualitative and Descriptive Approach. The data collecting is using the method of observation, interview and documentation. Then, all collected data the writer obtained were analyzed by analysis descriptive qualitative techniques. The Result found on this research that is there are varieties of strategy have been done by fisherman home life to upgrade and improve their standard of living. The strategy used by fisherman home life in facing the poorness is by involving their wives to add the monthly income to meet their daily need. The wives of fisherman society have two work as House Maid and just to help their husbands to lighten their burden from economic pressures which come to them almost everyday. They also need sometimes to diversify their job or collaborate to other jobs only to add and support their monthly income they even migrate to other region just to obtain better caught so that they are able still able to keep to continuity of their life.
