Perbandingan Pola Sidik Bibir Suku Melayu Riau Dan Suku Non Melayu Riau
Cheiloscopy is a forensic identification technique which use wrinkle patterns and the grooves on the surfaces of the labial mucosa, and the result pattern is called lip print. The inner lip print for the forensic identification process has several advantages, such as, it is relatively easy and inexpensive to use, it will never changed from the 6th week of fetus formation/fetal development untill the human died. Lip prints are permanent, genetic, individual, and it can be used as a guide to differentiate sex. There had not many study on the comparison of lip print patterns in between tribes, nor has the comparison of lip print patterns between Riau Malay and non-Riau Malay tribes. This study aims to determine the dominant pattern in each tribe by knowing whether there are differences on lip print patterns between Riau Malay tribes and non-Riau Malay tribes. This cross sectional study was conducted between November 2019 to February 2020 with 271 respondents, which were 135 Riau Malay tribes (49.8%) and 136 non- Riau Malay (50.1%). Exclusion criteria in this study was respondents with anatomic abnormalities on the lips such as labiochisis / labiopalatochisis. The method for printing the lip print patterns was the Vahanwal-Nayak-Pagare method. The classification of print patterns to determine the lip print patterns used was the Suzuki and Tsuchihashi classification in eight lip quadrants. Result showed that the lip pattern distribution from the two tribes, the dominant patterns was the type II pattern. Statistical tests showed that there was significant differences only in pattern at quadrants 1 and 4. (p = 0.004 and 0,010). It can be concluded that the pattern is not able to be used to differentiate Riau Malay tribes with non- Riau Malay tribes in the study of population.
