Jaringan Komunikasi Pembudidaya Ikan Nila Dalam Kegiatan Produksi Dan Pemasaran Di Nagari Bayua Kecamatan Tanjung Raya Kabupaten Agam Provinsi Sumatera Barat

This research was conducted in October 2019 in Nagari Bayua, Agam
Regency, West Sumatra Province. The purpose of this study is to describe the
individual characteristics of tilapia farmers, communication networks of tilapia
farmers in production and marketing activities, and describe the factors that drive
and inhibit communication networks in the production and marketing activities of
tilapia. The method used in this study is a survey method, data collection is done
by using an intact system sampling technique. The communication network
analyzed is global central, local central, togetherness using UCINET VI Software.
The results explained that the communication network between fish
farmers was formed based on the proximity of the residence and the similarity of
characters among its members. The structure of the production communication
network in the aquaculture business is the network that forms the radial personal
network (open) and the marketing communication network structure in the
aquaculture business is the network that forms the interlock personal network
(centralized). This open communication network between farmers gives meaning
where fish farmers are not focused on one individual and this centralized
communication network between farmers gives meaning that there is a dominant
role of individuals among fellow fish farmers. The driving factors for
communication between fish farmers are the need, the trust of fellow farmers,
supportive attitude and openness, while the inhibiting factors for communication
between fish farmers are the delivery of messages, accuracy of attitude, symbols /
non-verbal language, and distance of the cultivator.
