Habitus Suku Laut Dalam Tradisi Menongkah (Studi Pada Suku Laut Di Desa Panglima Raja Kabupeten Indragiri Hilir)
The Laut are generally included in the lower middle class, which causes them to lack capital to survive in a muddy coastal estuary arena and the tides of the Laut tribe have their own way of making a living, known as menongkah. Chanting is then a tradition that has been carried down through the Laut tribe until now, in chanting the Laut Tribe has its own unique habits or habits so that researchers are interested in looking deeper. This study aims to determine the history of the Laut tribe and know the traditions of menongkah that exist in the Laut tribe, and analyze the Laut tribe Habitusin Menongkah. The intended location is Panglima Raja Village, Indragiri Hilir Regency, this is because Panglima Raja Village is one of the Laut Tribes. This type of research is qualitative. Determination of research subjects based on purposive sampling, namely the search for informants with the aim and meet certain requirements. The results showed that the tradition of chopping is a work of collecting blood clams on a muddy stretch of water at low tide using a tool in the form of a board made of pulai wood. The tradition of chopping is done for 3-4 hours per day. The time in the tradition of cutting is done at low tide. The tools used in chopping are wooden planks made of pulai wood, plastic baskets, sacks and lamps that are used when cutting at night. The place to sell the produce is done at the tauke place, in the middle of the sea, and scattered around the village by Laut women. The reason for the dismantling of the Laut Tribe is closely related to capital (capital) in this case cultural capital (family socialization), economic capital (income / income), and symbolic capital (education). Habitus contained in the cutting is the habitus of gathering, using light clothes such as T-shirts, the habitus of using traditional equipment, the habitus of betabek or asking permission from the sea watchman, the habitus of selling the results of the chewing without processing, and the last habitus after chopping on income is to use income only for daily needs.
