Modal Sosial Para Pedagang Toko Pasca Menghadapi Bencana Kebakaran Di Pasa Ateh Bukittinggi
This study explains the elements of social capital found in post-fire traders in Pasa Ateh Bukittinggi. The purpose of this research is to find out how the social elements play a role in helping the traders whose shops have been burnt and knowing what elements have an effect on increasing their turnover. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. As for those who became informants in this study amounted to 10 people, 6 of whom were supporting informants. In determining the informants using purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques, namely by observation, interviews and documentation. The theory used is the social capital theory put forward by Robert D. Putnam, which consists of 3 elements of social capital, networks, trust and norms. The results of this study explain that the fires that occurred in Pasa Ateh Bukittinggi damaged the social networks that have been established for years, this has caused great losses for Pasa Ateh Bukittinggi traders. With fewer buyers after the fire, traders took advantage of the social capital they had. You do this by expanding social networks, and creating a sense of trust by upholding values and norms. The results of this study show that traders have succeeded in restoring market equilibrium by utilizing their social capital.
