The study deals with the literary genre in childbirth traditions. The basic problem of this study is the literary genre that is found in the tradition of giving birth to Malay and Javanese peoples on the island, compar The reason for the study is that because of the birth tradition, there is no escape from literary activities, where there is no protection and development, the tradition will be lost because of the changing effects of orientation. The study was intended to describe the literary genre in the birthing traditions of Malay and Javanese peoples. The literary genre in the tradition of giving birth to the peoples of rangsang island is a kind or literary form based on the tradition of giving birth to the island people of rangsang. The research methods used are qualitative methods that describe data descriptions. The study hasa total of 53 sets of non-narrative literary gentiques, mantras, prohibitions, words and proverbs. Research has found that the most widely encountered genre of spells and that the birthing stages with the most literary genre are pre-conceived.
