Pengaruh Perbandingan Campuran Pelarut N-Heksana Dan Etanol Terhadap Proses Ekstraksi Biji Pinang (Areca Catechu L) Melalui Proses Ekstraksi Sokletasi
ABSTRACT
Extraction is a process of separating a substance based on differences in its solubility in
two different insoluble liquids, usually water and the other as an organic solvent. The
basic material used in the extraction process this time is betel nut. The extraction process
used is soxhletation extraction, which is the process of separating a component contained
in a solid by repeated extraction using a certain solvent so that all the desired
components will be isolated. The solvents used in this study were n hexane and ethanol.
The purpose of this research is to find the maximum conditions of the variation of nhexane
and ethanol solvents. Betel nuts as much as 100 grams, using n-hexane and
ethanol as much as 250 ml with a ratio of 1: 1, 1: 4, 2: 3, 3: 2, 4: 1. With an extraction
time of 5 hours, 5 hours 30 minutes and 6 hours. Based on the results of the study, the
percentage was obtained yield highest from the distillation of areca seed oil by 30% in
the ratio of the solvent mixture (n-hexane: ethanol) 4: 1 with an extraction time of 6
hours, the largest density was obtained in the ratio of solvent mixture (n-hexane: ethanol)
4: 1 with an extraction time of 6 hours at 1.320 gr / cm3, the greatest viscosity was
obtained in the ratio of the solvent mixture (n-hexane: ethanol) 4: 1 with an extraction
time of 6 hours of 3.90 cSt.
