Perancangan Pusat Wisata Edukasi Biota Laut Di Rokan Hilir Dengan Pendekatan Arsitektur Biomimetik
ABSTRACT
Indonesia's strategic sea location makes the potential for marine life in
Indonesia itself very high. Therefore, facilities are needed to provide recreational
information. Rokan Hilir is the right location for this design, because the marine
potential possessed by Rokan Hilir is quite high and the tourism sector in Rokan Hilir
is also superior, so Rokan Hilir is considered a suitable design location. The planned
container is the Marine Biota Education Tourism Center. In the Design of Marine
Biota Education Tourism Centers, the approach applied is the principles of
Biomimetic Architecture, with the aim that buildings are designed to be more
synergistic in an effort to pay attention to the condition of the surrounding
environment. The principles of Biomimetic Architecture are: 1) Inspiration from
natural forms; 2) Inspiration from natural systems; 3) Inspiration from natural
processes. In designing the Marine Biota Education Tourism Center there are 2 main
functions, namely the education function and the recreation function which applies
the principles of Biomimetic Architecture. The Marine Biota Tourism Facility in
Rokan Hilir is a recreational public facility that raises the theme of marine life under
the sea in order to better educate the general public about the importance of
preserving the marine life that Indonesia possesses. The concept raised is to lead
visitors to feel like entering the sea so that visitors can feel and understand the
character of each zone in the sea.
