Strategi Adaptasi Lansia Janda Di Kecamatan Kabun

Old age life often perceived negatively as a family burden. Not surprisingly, in everyday life the elderly try to support themselves. This study aims to determine the strategy and adaptation of elderly widows in meeting the needs of life and to know the social capital activities undertaken and felt by elderly widows in their daily lives. This study is qualitative, the sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling with a total of 5 informants consisting of 2 informants as key informants and as informants 3 triangulation informants as many as 5 people. Data collection was obtained by using in-depth interviews that were distributed to informants, observations and in-depth interviews as well as pictures and documents as documentation data with the aim of strengthening the research results. Data processing by combining various data collection techniques and existing data sources, and testing the credibility of a researcher data using triangulation techniques.
The results of this study indicate that widows elderly are in need of more attention such as physiological / health needs, safety and security needs, love and affection needs, and self-acculturation needs. Basically most of the elderly in Kabun Subdistrict lack self-confidence towards themselves, however With the support of the surrounding environment, the elderly become even more confident to participate in activities around their high places.
So the strategy that can be done is by planful problem solving that is a strategy that can be used by the elderly, especially the elderly in Kabun Subdistrict to overcome the difficulties encountered, most to continue their lives after being left behind by their elderly husbands prefer to keep themselves busy, so as to avoid loneliness . Then seeking social support that is the elderly need support from family and friends and the environment, the elderly have many factors not only negative factors but also positive factors that encourage the occurrence of elderly widows to seek support outside the family. and with social capital becoming the main capital in strengthening networks in society so that widows do not feel lonely.
