Tingkat Ramah Lingkungan Dan Pengoperasian Alat Tangkap Jaring Insang Lingkar Di Kecamatan Belakang Padang Kota Batam Provinsi Kepulauan Riau

ABSTRACT
The gill net fishing gear is operated in the sub-district of Belakang Padang.
This study aims to determine the level of environmental friendliness and operation
of the encircling gill net fishing gear. This research was conducted in August
2019. The method used is the survey method. The data taken are primary data
such as the results of interviews with environmental friendly levels and
sustainable fishing activities as well as participating in the operation of the
encircling gill net fishing gear. The data obtained from interviews with
environmentally friendly fishing gear were taken and the average was explained
in tabular form. The operation of the encircling gill net is described descriptively.
The results of this study indicate that the gill net fishing gear obtained an average
score of 24.84 which is included in the 21-30 category or environmentally friendly
and the weighting of sustainable activities gets a score of 14.16 which is included
in the category 11-15 or sustainable. Operation of gear through three stages,
namely the operation of setting for + 40 minutes, immersing for 6-8 hours and
hauling for 3-4 hours. Where time is less efficient, causing some fish to die from
being destroyed during operation.
