ABSTRACT
The application of drying technology based on coconut waste has been
carried out in drying the raw material for cow skin crackers by a home industry in
the drying technology of the automation system and analyzing the rate of decrease
in the moisture content of the raw material for cow skin crackers. The parameters
measured were the moisture content and temperature of the drying equipment in
the study showed that the temperature changes in the dryer tended to be constant,
namely 55.76°C and the moisture content is 20%, while in drying using the sun
the temperature fluctuated with the weather and the moisture content was
relatively small by 22%. The efficiency (η) of drying using biomass for 120
minutes and solar energy on a sunny day for 300 minutes is 92.86%, while on
cloudy days for 1680 minutes an efficiency is obtained of 60%.
