Analisa Kerentanan Wilayah Pesisir Meranti Dengan Metode Cvi (Coastal Vulnerability Index) (Studi Kasus : Pulau Rangsang, Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti)
ABSTRACT
The coast of Rangsang Island is a dynamic area because it is directly opposite the
Malacca Strait. These dynamic conditions can affect coastal vulnerability. The
vulnerability of Rangsang Island is caused by several physical factors at sea and
on land. Efforts to prevent the impact caused by disasters in coastal areas can be
done by analyzing the vulnerability of coastal areas. Analysis of determining the
vulnerability of coastal areas can be done by assessing the physical condition of
the coastal area. Assessment of the level of coastal vulnerability in this study
using the CVI (Coastal Vulnerability Index) method. CVI is a relative ranking
method based on an index scale of physical parameters such as: shoreline
change, green belt width, land use, damage length and beach width, tidal
distance, beach slope, and wave height. The results obtained from the CVI method
indicate that the vulnerability level of Rangsang Island belongs to the medium
vulnerability category. Areas in this category are in Bantar village, Tanah Merah
village and Sungai Gayung Kiri village with CVI values in the range of 25-50.
Meanwhile, Melai village, Kedabu Meeting village and Tanjung Kedabu village
had a CVI value of 0-25. This value shows that in Melai village, Kedabu Meeting
village and Tanjung Kedabu village have a level of vulnerability in the vulnerable
category. Meanwhile, Sonde village has a CVI value of 50-75. The highest wave
height was in Sonde village of 1.23 m and the lowest wave height was in Sungai
Gayung Kiri village of 1.09 m. This value indicates that Sonde village has a high
level of vulnerability in the category. Obtaining the CVI value shows that almost
the entire area of Rangsang Island, especially in West Rangsang, has different
CVI values so that it is at the level of vulnerability in the category of vulnerable to
disasters in coastal areas.
