Karakteristik Sifat Mekanis Dan Fisik Tanah Lunak Di Kabupaten Siak Berdasarkan Pengujian Dokenbo Dan Vane Shear
ABSTRACT
Soft soil is a cohesive soil consisting mostly of very small grains such as clay and
silt. The soft soil layer has low shear properties, high compressibility, low
coefficient of permeability, and has low bearing capacity. In Siak Regency, most
of its territory is in soft soil conditions which are dominated by peat soil. This
makes the author conduct research on soft soil in Siak Regency using Dokenbo
and Vane Shear. Dokenbo is a soil testing tool developed by the Public Works
Research Institute in Japan. Parameters obtained from the Dokenbo test include
the value of penetration, torque (T0) and shear angle in the soil (Ø). Vane Shear
aims to obtain the value of undrained shear strength in the field. This study aims
to obtain a simple relationship (correlation) between the mechanical properties of
Dokenbo and Vane Shear and the correlation between mechanical and physical
properties of the soil. The results of the Dokenbo test in this study include
penetration with a range of 300-1400 kN/m2, torque value (T0) with a range of
0.1-1 N.m and an internal shear angle value (Ø) in a range of 10o – 65o. Vane
Shear test results obtained soil shear strength values in the range of 10-60 kPa.
From the test results obtained, it is obtained that the correlation between
Penetration and Shear Strength (Su) has a strong interpretation, the correlation
of torsion (T0) and Shear Strength (Su) has a strong interpretation, and the
correlation of internal shear angle (Ø) and Shear Strength (Su) has a low
interpretation. Meanwhile, the correlation between mechanical properties and
soil physical properties has a moderate interpretation.
Keywords: Dokenbo, Shear Strength (Su), penetration, torque (T0), inner shear
