Pembuatan Alat Laboratorium Untuk Praktikum Optik Geometri Tingkat SMA Berbasis Laser Dioda
The problem in this study is the scientific literacy of Indonesian students
requires standardized learning methods, one of which is using learning methods
with media demo tools or laboratory equipment. However, the provision of these
tools by schools is still lacking. An low cost and geometric optical kit is needed to
support student learning outcomes. The purpose of this research is to make a
geometric optical kit based on a diode laser and refracting vessel, to test the
geometry optical kit system in geometric optics experiments and determine the
effectiveness of using the kits.
This study uses Research and Development (R & D) method with Analysis,
Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation (ADDIE) model. The kit used
consists of a laser light source with a wavelength of 650 nm and a power of 1 mw
a voltage source, an acrylic vessel or tank, a circular angle scale. The materials
used are an acrylic framework, acrylic glue, and a sample solution as an optical
medium. The research procedure consisted of problem analysis, preparation &
materials, design of water vessels & laser diode systems, write of practicum
modules, validation, repair and optimization, implementation, evaluation and
testing of its effectiveness.
The results showed that a diode laser-based geometric optical kit can be
made from a diode laser and a refracting vessel with a feasibility test result of
97.50%. The test results of the geometry kit system show that the average
refractive index of aqueous solutions is 1,40, the refractive index of 30% sugar
solutions is 1.50 and the refractive index of sugar solutions is 1,60. While the
average critical angle of water, 30% sugar solution and 50% sugar solution is
900. The effectiveness of using the kit for geometric optical experiments can be
seen from the difference in student learning outcomes that are higher in the
experimental class using a laser practicum tool set. diodes were compared with
student learning outcomes in the control class without using practicum tools,
where in the experimental class the average value of student learning outcomes
from 32.83 at the time of the pretest to 73 after doing the posttest. While the
results of the control class pretest from an average of 31.83 to 68 after the
posttest.
