ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine the role of farmer groups, determine the
empowerment of vegetable farmers, analyze the influence of the role of farmer
groups on the empowerment of vegetable farmers in Sidomulyo Barat Village,
Tampan District, Pekanbaru City. The sample in this study was determined by
purposive sampling method. Analysis of the data to determine the objectives of
the first and second research used a Likert scale, while to determine the second
objective, multiple linear regression analysis was used. The results showed that
the role of farmer groups in West Sidomulyo Village as a learning class, a vehicle
for cooperation and as a production unit was in the role category.The
empowerment of vegetable farmers in the West Sidomulyo Village seen from
human resources, productive economy, and institutions is in the empowered
category. The empowerment of vegetable farmers in West Sidomulyo Village, is
significantly influenced by the role of farmer groups as learning classes, vehicles
for cooperation and as production units
