This research background by policies taken by many countries including
Indonesia by closing all educational activities, making the government and
related institutions have to present alternative educational processes for students
and students who cannot carry out the educational process at educational
institutions.principals in making policies to be able to improve school quality.
Agile leadership in general is leadership that is able to navigate the organization
more adaptively, productively, and excels in all situations.Agile leaders do not
avoid change, but are flexible and adapt to change.
The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the leadership
agility of elementary school principals in the learning process during the COVID-
19 pandemic (Study of Principals of public elementary school 061, public
elementary school 062, public elementary school 072), North Payabungan
District, Mandailing Natal Regency. This research is qualitative with a case
approach. which is descriptive.
Based on the results of the study, it was shown that the leadership
of the principal in North Panyabungan already had agile leadership. This has a
major impact on improving school performance. The success of the school can be
seen from the leadership ability of the principal in leading the school. This can be
seen from: The ability of the principal to respond and identify changes and
respond to these changes quickly and flexibly. And school principals have
competencies that effectively realize goals and are able to complete an activity as
quickly as possible which includes excellent service that can still be provided by
schools in carrying out different processes and implementing different facilities to
achieve the same learning process as before the COVID-19 outbreak in
Indonesia. And in the end, when a principal has an agile attitude, the quality of
the school remains and can run optimally in a crisis situation. As well as
supporting factors in implementing the effectiveness of agile leadership, namely
the cooperation that exists between the principal and all school members,
establishing open communication so that all teacher and staff problems can be
conveyed in a relaxed and open manner without any hesitation.
