Implementasi Kebijakan Pengurangan Penggunaan Kantong Plastik Di Kabupaten Siak (Studi Pada Kawasan Objek Wisata, Pasar Tradisional Dan Kantor Pemerintah)

The implementation of the policy to reduce the use of plastic bags is a policy
made by the government which aims to prevent environmental damage caused by
the use of plastic bags because they are not easily biodegradable and can poison
the soil and to build community participation to participate in environmental
protection. As for the background of this research, people's lifestyles that are
increasingly consumptive are one of the biggest contributors to environmental
damage, such as plastic waste in the community. The purpose of this study was to
determine the implementation of policies to reduce the use of plastic bags and the
factors that hindered the implementation of these policies. This study used
qualitative research methods. The required data, both primary and secondary
data, were obtained by means of observation, interviews and documentation, for
further analysis. The results of this study indicate that: first, the implementation of
the policy to reduce the use of plastic bags in Siak Regency has not run optimally.
Second, the inhibiting factors in implementing the policy are not comprehensive
socialization, the presence of street vendors who are not orderly, there is no
sanction for violators, and people's habits are difficult to change.
