Sintesis Dan Karakterisasi Nanopartikel Zno Menggunakan Ekstrak Daun Sirsak Sebagai Bioreduktor Untuk Degradasi Metilen Biru
The rapid development of the textile industry can increase the production of waste produced
such as dye wastes. Methylene blue is the most widely used dye in the industry and is
harmful to live organisms and the environment due to its resistance to degradation. This study
aims to synthesize and characterize ZnO nanoparticles photocatalyst using Annona muricata
L. leaf extract as a bioreductor that can degrade methylene blue and effects of contact time on
degradation activity. The synthesis process had mixed with Annona muricata L. leaf extract
and the solution ZnO(NO3)2 0.05 M with a volume ratio of 1:3, 1:5, and 1:7 and then added
with a few drops of NaOH solution 1M to pH of 12. The biosynthesis process had carried out
at a temperature of 80oC for 1 hour. Nanoparticles ZnO were formed, characterized using a
UV-Vis spectrophotometer result absorbance spectrum shows highest absorption peaks that
occur over a range of wavelengths of 298 – 332 nm, is the ultraviolet spectrum area that is the
feature of ZnO. XRD characterization of sample 1:5 exhibits seven diffraction peaks that
correspond to the Miller index of the hexagonal wurtzite structure. The highest peak intensity
is in the crystal plane (101) on a crystal average size is 16,21 nm. The degradation activity of
methylene blue 5 ppm was calculated based on the absorbance of the UV-Vis
Spectrophotometry with an optimum time of 120 minutes resulted in the degradation
efficiency of 39.35%.
