Model Pembentukan Fenomena Layangan Pada Gelombang Dua Dimensi
Two-dimensional waves with irreguler shapes if given two vibratios with slightly
differrent frequencies at any point will cause a beat phenomenon. This study aims to
model a beat of a two-dimensional wave caused by 2 vibration sources that differ
slightly in frequency and based on the given domain pattern. The beat was modeled
using 2 frequencies in each domain. The first frequency is 150 Hz and the second
frequency is 450 Hz, with each frequency difference of 5 Hz. This research uses the
Finite Element Method which is carried out in two dimensions using a twodimenional
field. The beat was modeled on a circular domain with a triangular and
rectangular barrier in the center of the circle. The beat pattern on the circle is taken at
points x=4, 6, 8 and 10, and points y=14. The pattern of a two-dimensional wave was
created by using simulation on a computer in which there is Matlab R2016a software
which is used to run applications and data programming. Simulations were carried
out on a circle with a triangular barrier for the first frequency, namely 150 Hz and
155 Hz, also at the second frequency, namely 450 Hz and 455 Hz. Simulations were
also carried out on a circle with a rectangular barrier for the first frequency of 150 Hz
and 155 Hz, also at the second frequency of 450 Hz and 455 Hz. The pattern of the
beat will form on each circle domain at several points on the x-axis is 4, 6, 8, and 10,
and on the y-axis is 14. Based on the result of the study, the propagation of two
waves in the x-axis direction in a circle with a triangular barrier, the highest
amplitude result was 1.25 which occurred at f1=150 Hz and f2=155 Hz, at point 10,
at t=26 s. And for the propagation of two waves in the x-axis direction in a circle with
a rectangular barrier, the highest amplitudo result was 3.5, which occurred at f1=150
Hz and f2=155 Hz, at point x=8, at t=24 s.
