Pengawasan Stabilitas Harga Barang Pokok Di Masa Pandemi Covid-19 Di Pekanbaru

Basic necessities are one of the primary needs for human life. The government has
the duty and responsibility to ensure the availability and affordability of the basic
needs of the public. Therefore, monitoring of the price stability of basic
necessities through monitoring, collecting and reporting price on basic necessities
is carried out. This is the background for the author to conduct research related
to monitoring the stability of price for basic necessities by the department of
industry, trade, cooperatives, small and medium enterprises in Riau Province. The
formulation of the problem in this study is how to monitor the stability of the
prices of basic goods during the Covid-19 Pandemic in Pekanbaru and the
inhibiting factors. The purpose of this study is to find out how to monitor the
stability og the price of basic necessities during the Covid-19 Pandemic in
Pekanbaru and what are the inhibiting factors. This study used qualitative
research methods. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews and
documentation. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the
Department of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises in
Riau Province in terms of monitoring the stability of prices for basic necessities is
still not optimal. This is because in the implementation of these monitoring
activities it is still not in accordance with the implementation technical
instructions that have been set. The inhibiting factor is the lack of human
resources for the implementation of activities and also the lack of participation of
traders as informants for monitoring the prices of basic necessities.
