ABSTRACT
The research that has been conducted in this discussion explains the profile of the Yellow Army in Dinas Pekerjaan Umum dan Penataan Ruang Kota Pekanbaru (PUPR). Researchers have taken to the field to conduct observations and interview subjects with the criteria specified in this study. This research uses qualitative descriptive research methods by explaining the seeming facts. An informant is a person who provides information about the problem being investigated. The purpose of this study is to find out the responses regarding observations made in the field. The purpose of this study is to find out the reason for choosing a job as a Yellow Army in the Pupr Office of Pekanbaru City. This study involved 9 respondents who are the Yellow Troops of the Dinas Pekerjaan Umum dan Penataan Ruang Kota Pekanbaru (PUPR Office). The results show that the choice of life as a yellow army can be seen from the social conditions of the yellow army, the economic condition of the yellow army, and the sustainability as a yellow army. Most yellow troops are people who have no choice in choosing other jobs because the level of education is only elementary school, junior high school, and comes from a pre-prosperous family so they have to work as a yellow army to make ends meet, some yellow troops will stop due to old age, children who have asked, and the desire to care for their younger brother.
