Perkembangan Motif Batik Bono Sebagai Identitas Kabupaten Pelalawan Berbasis Kearifan Lokal (2013-2020)

Batik Bono is a typical batik of Pelalawan Regency produced by Rumah
Batik Andalan which is present through collaboration between the government and
companies in the field of micro, small and medium enterprises. The name Bono
itself is taken from a natural phenomenon that occurs in the Kampar river due to the
confluence of river currents and the currents of the South China Sea and the
Malacca Strait. Myth in society, bono which is the incarnation of 7 ghosts who often
sink ships and kill victims, causing fear in the community. In its development,
Rumah Batik Andalan as the producer of Batik Bono already has 5 motifs that are
recognized by the copyright by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights and have
also been certified with SNI. This study discusses the development of the Bono
Batik motif as the identity of Pelalawan Regency based on local wisdom (2013-
2020). The research objectives in this study are: 1) to find out the history of the
mainstay batik house as producer of Bono Batik in Pelalawan Regency (2013-
2020), 2) to find out the development of motifs in Batik Bono, Pelalawan District
(2013-2020), 3) to find out the preservation of Bono Batik in Pelalawan District
(2013-2020), and 4) to find out the impact of the existence of Bono Batik in
Pelalawan District (2013-2020). In this study using the historical method
(Historical). The result of this research is the development of this small industry
which is able to stand independently and sustainably and is able to become an icon
of the region. Apart from that, the role of all levels of society must still be improved
so that Batik Bono still exists as an Icon / Characteristic / Identity of Pelalawan
Regency. The presence of Batik Bono has an impact on all sectors ranging from the
economy which helps to fulfill the necessities of life for the people who are
members of Rumah Batik Andalan, the tourism sector which raises the tourism
potential of the bono waves, to the social that makes Pelalawan Regency have its
own unique souvenirs.
