ABSTRACT
Fruits are one of the horticultural products that are very beneficial for the health of the body. Ripe fruit can not be stored too long because the level of maturity of the fruit will increase and rot. Rotten fruit will become waste and can be used as material for making liquid organic fertilizer. This liquid organic fertilizer can be applied to all types of forestry plants, one of which is Aquilaria malaccensis. Aquilaria malaccensis is a non-timber forest product in the form of resin which has high economic value. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect and concentration of the most effective liquid organic fertilizer to stimulate the growth of Aquilaria malaccensis. This study used a completely randomized design experimental method consisting of 4 treatments, namely control, concentration of 10%, 20% and 30%. Parameters observed were live percentage, height gain, diameter increase, plant dry weight and top root ratio. The results showed that the liquid organic fertilizer of fruit waste had a significant effect on spurring the growth of Aquilaria malaccensis plants on the parameters of percentage of life, height gain, diameter increase and root crown ratio. The most effective concentration of liquid organic fertilizer was 10% concentration (Treatment P1) with seedling survival percentage of 80%, height increase of 1,68 cm, diameter increase of 0,75 mm, seedling dry weight of 0,11 g and top root ratio of 3,32.
