ABSTRACT
Tectona grandis is oneof the mainstay forest plant species that is widely developed because it has good properties, especially for carpentry. In its growth, Tectona grandis plants are often attacked by various types of pests and diseases. Pest and disease attacks if not considered properly will result in an imbalance of the ecosystem. Therefore, there is a need for research on pests and diseases of the plant Tectona grandis. The purpose of this study was to determine the intensity of pest and disease attacks on Tectona grandis stands. This research was carried out for more than a month in May 2021 and was carried out on a 4 ha stand of Tectona grandis with a spacing of 2 x 2 m using a random sampling method. The method of determining the plot is through a lottery, namely by numbering 400 numbers on the paper, then drawing lots to get 40 numbers. The intensity of the sample taken is 10%, which is 0.4 ha, the observation plot is made of 10 x 10 m with 40 plots. The intensity of pest and disease attacks on 8-year-old stands of Tectona grandis in Pangkalan Baru Village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency with a spacing of 2 x 2 m had an attack intensity value of 22.1% including the category of minor damage.
