Kontribusi Hutan Kemasyarakatan Terhadap Kesejahteraan Kelompok Tani Hutan (Kth) Setia Kawan Kabupaten Karo

ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine the components of community forestry that contribute to the economy, analyze the contribution of community forestry to income, analyze the contribution of community forestry to the level of welfare, and determine the driving and inhibiting factors faced by the Setia Kawan forest farmer group in the development of community forestry. This research was conducted in Sukamaju Village, Tiga Panah District, Karo Regency, North Sumatra Province. The method used is a survey method. The sample in this study amounted to 57 families, with the sampling technique using simple random sampling technique. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis method. The results of this study found that the components of the Setia Kawan community forest that contributed to the economy were pine. Community forestry in Suka Maju Village has not yet provided an economic contribution to the income of the Setia Kawan forest farmer group in Karo Regency. Community forestry in Suka Maju Village has not contributed to the welfare level of the Setia Kawan forest farmer group in Karo Regency. The factors that support the development of community forestry are natural forest resources, assistance from the government, and the presence of social forestry assistants. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors faced by farmers in the development of community forestry are the level of education, facilities and infrastructure, rainfall, worker productivity, lack of creativity in managing yields and capital.
