Karakteristik Plastik Biodegradable Berbahan Baku Pati Sagu Dengan Penambahan Selulosa Serat Daun Nanas Sebagai Filler
ABSTRACT
This study aims to obtain the best characteristics of biodegradable plastic made from sago starch with the addition of pineapple leaf fiber cellulose as a filler. This research was conducted experimentally using Completely Randomized Method (CRD) with four treatments and four replications. The treatments in this study was the addition of cellulose fiber from pineapple leaves 15%, 20%, 25% and 30%. The tests conducted thickness, tensile strength, elongation, water resistance, and biodegradation. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance (ANOVA). The addition of pineapple leaf fiber cellulose has a significant effect on thickness, tensile strength, elongation, air resistance and biodegradation. The best treatment in this study in the addition of 30% pineapple leaf cellulose fiber with a thickness of 47.25 mm; tensile strength 19.27 MPa; elongation 10.59%, biodegradation 59.50% and air resistance 63.25%.
