THE INFLUENCE OF CONFIDENCE IN THE ABILITY OF PUBLIC SPEAKING AND LEADERSHIP IN MEMBERS OF THE NEW GENERATION OF INDONESIA (GenBI) RIAU FOR THE PERIOD 2021

Self-confidence is a very valuable attribute in an individual in his social life, without having self-confidence will cause a lot of problems in a person. This is because with self-confidence, a person is able to actualize all his potential such as public speaking and leadership skills. GenBI Riau is a community of Bank Indonesia scholarship recipients in the Riau area. All members of GenBI Riau received special training, especially in the fields of public speaking and leadership. So that thepurpose of this study is to find out whether there is an influence of self-confidence on public speaking and leadership skills in members of the New Generation of Indonesia (GenBI) Riau 2021.
This research uses quantitative methods with a correlational approach. The data collection techniques used are questionnaires and documentation. How to spread the questionnaire is done online using google form. The population in this study was 331 members, then using the formula Slovin obtained a sample of 181 respondents. The sample determination technique used in this study is the proportionate stratified random sampling technique.
Based on the results of a simple linear regression analysis, the regression coephesien value was obtained in this study with the equation Y1 = 7.143 + 0.517X. Where, Ho ditolak and Ha are accepted with a significance level of 0.000. If the level of significance is smaller than the significance determination of 0.05, it can be concluded that there is an influence of confidence in the ability of public speaking. Y2 = 11,292 + 0.589X. Where, Ho ditolak and Ha are accepted with a significance level of 0.000. If the level of significance is smaller than the determination of significance of 0.05, it can be concluded that there is an influence of confidence in leadership. The coefficient of determination or R square variable Y1 in this study was 0.458. This shows that the confidence variable has an influence of 45.8% on public speaking ability in members of Generarai Baru Indonesia (GenBI) Riau for the 2021 period. While koefisien determination or R square variable Y2 in this study amounted to 0.437. This shows that the confidence variable has an influence of 43.7% on leadership in members of the new Generarai Indonesia (GenBI) Riau for the 2021 period.
