SEMIOTIC ANALYSIS IN THE SONG KELUH RIMBANG KESAH BALING OF ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES IN RIAU

Music is a medium for delivering messages that are universal. Delivery of messages in music is often used by some Indonesian musicians in broadcasting something or conveying certain messages. Whether it comes from the experience of the song lyricist or from the problems that occur around him. One of them is the delivery of environmental messages in Ary Juliyant's song entitled "keluh Rimbang Kesah Baling" which in the lyrics of the song describes various environmental problems that most often occur in Riau. The purpose of this study is to find out how the denotations, connotations and myths contained in the lyrics of the song "Keluh Rimbang Kesah Baling" and what environmental issues are contained in it.
This study uses a qualitative approach with Roland Barthes' Semiotic Analysis approach which is very identical with three main points of study, namely denotation (true meaning), connotation (cultural meaning) and myths to analyze the meaning in the lyrics of the song "Keluh Rimbang Kesah Baling" as a means of campaigning to save Riau's forests. The object of this research is the lines of lyrics in the form of text in the song "keluh Rimbang Kesah Baling" which consists of 9 lines. The data collection techniques used are observation, documentation and literature study.
The results of this study are: Denotatively are the sentences in the lyrics of the song "Keluh Rimbang Kesah Baling", Connotatively obtained from the analysis of the meaning in the lyrics of the song "Keluh Rimbang Kesah Baling", are some implied meanings that refer to On environmental issues in Riau, the songwriter's feelings of concern and several meanings lead to the concept of Literary Ecocritic, The myths contained in the lyrics of the song "keluh Rimbang Kesah Baling" include, among others, the ancestors of the Indonesian nation who worked as sailors which researchers interpreted from the word "river community", the next myth about the existence of God, and the life of creatures other than humans as well. can pray to God.
