Pengaruh Komposisi Media Tanam Terhadap Pertumbuhan Semai Cemara Sumatera (Taxus Sumatrana)
Taxus sumatrana is one of the sources of taxol that grows in Indonesia's tropical rainforest which is used as a medicine to fight cancer cells. The high exploitation to process active ingredients of taxane in the pharmaceutical world makes the Taxus population included in Apendix II Cites and IUCN Redlist. To support the sustainability of Taxus sumatrana, quality cultivation is needed, which can be done by the provision of quality seeds. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of planting media composition on Taxus sumatrana seedling growth and determine the best planting media composition for Taxus sumatrana seedling growth. This study used 5 treatments and 3 replications so that 15 experimental units were obtained. The application of planting media composition to the growth of Taxus sumatrana seedlings in this study can be seen as follows: P0= 100% mineral soil (Control), P1= 100% elephant manure compost, P2= soil+elephant manure compost (1:1), P3= husk+elephant manure compost (1:1), and P4= husk+soil+elephant manure compost (1:1:1). The data obtained was analyzed using SPSS 26.0. The composition of the planting media was able to increase the growth of Taxus sumatrana. The composition of soil+compost planting media with a ratio of 1:1 showed the best treatment with a life percentage of 83.33%, a height yield of 0.52 cm, robustness value 5.18, plant dry weight of 0.50 g and a top root ratio of 2.58.
