The background of this research is the need for labor in the pulp and
paper industry in Riau Province., this is a reason for the formation of a study
program unit organization initiated by the Tanoto Foundation, founded by
PT.Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper cooperates with the University of Riau.this
study program is called the Pulp and Paper Technology Study Program (PSD3-
TPK) which stands at the Faculty of Engineering University of Riau. PSD3-TPK
is the only pulp and paper study program in Riau Province.
The puprose of this research is to find out and analyze about
Organizational Capacity Development in Pulp and Paper Technology Vocational
Education University Of Riau as well as other factors that influence
Organizational Capacity Development in Pulp and Paper Technology Vocational
Education University Of Riau. The theoretical concept used is the theory of
organizational capacity development based on levels by Riyadi(2006); individual
level, organizational level, and system level. This research uses descriptive
qualitative method, the data in this study were obtained from observations,
interviews, literature studies and documentation.
The results of this study indicate that, the caapcity development of PSD3-
TPK is considered good, because seen from the efforts at the individual level,
organizational level, and system level made to maximize the organization.this is
also evidenced by the absorption of all 43 PSD3-TPK alumni in the pulp and
paper industry. Another influencing factor identified is the shared commitment
and changing world of the pulp and paper industry.
