Optimasi Efisiensi Nanopartikel Perak Hasil Sintesis Menggunakan Natrium Sitrat Dalam Menurunkan Konsentrasi Methylene Blue
vii
SUMMARY
Dyes are extensively utilized throughout a number of industrial, including textiles, rubber, paper, printing and plastics. Most of the dye turns water color at very low quantities, causing severe ecological issue, the extinction aquatic life and harm to human health. The most widely use dye is methylene blue. For these reasons it is essential to remove methylene blue from wastewater effluents before dumping them into water bodies in order to minimize it is detrimental effect on receiving waters. In this study, the silver nanoparticles resulted by sodium citrate as reduction agent was used. The aim of this research was to optimize pH of the solution and silver nanoparticles dosage in methylene blue removal. UV-Vis Spectrophotometer was used to analyze the methylene blue concentration before and after contacted with silver nanoparticles. The result showed that pH 2 and 6 mg of silver nanoparticles were chosen as the optimum parameter. The silver nanoparticles synthesized by sodium citrate was effectively remove methylene blue with removal efficiency value of 61.42%.
