Abstract
Determining the composition of gill net catches during the day and night in the waters of Bantan Village aims to determine the composition of gill net catches in terms of weight (kg), number of individuals (tails) and types of fish at the time of catching. The gill fishing area has a distance from the fishing base to the fishing ground ± 1 km. There are 9 types of gill net catches, namely sea pomfret, prickly pear, machete, selar, talang, mackerel, tongue fish, octopus and squid. The number of catches during the study was 1495 with a total weight of 112.48 kg. The statistical calculation of the t-test results obtained t hit > t tab (0.05) with a 95% confidence level, with a t-count value of 7.88 and a t-table value of 1.73 it can be concluded that the time of day and night catching using gill nets is operated in the waters of Bantan Village there are differences in the composition of the catch between the day and night and affect the catch.
