Pembingkaian Pemberitaan Kasus Dugaan Pelecehan Seksual Di Fakultas Ilmu Sosial Dan Ilmu Politik Universitas Riau (Studi Komparatif Media Online Cakaplah.Com Dan Riauonline.Co.Id)

The case of alleged sexual harassment at the University of Riau emerged on November 4, 2021. Suddenly news related to the case became headlines in local and national media. In Riau itself, the media Cakaplah.com and Riauonline.co.id became the two media that reported the most cases. Respectively 145 and 107 pieces of news. This is an attraction for researchers to look at the framing of reports of alleged sexual harassment at the University of Riau from both online media in constructing the reality of an event into a news story.
This study uses a qualitative method with an approach using the Framing Pan and Kosicki. Data obtained through observation, documentation and literature study. The unit of analysis is taken 6 news stories from each online media with limitations before the reported becomes a suspect, when the reported becomes a suspect, and the reported verdict is acquitted.
The result of the research shows that in the syntactic structure, Cakaplah.com media uses a title that tends to defend the reporter. The selection of sources did not show an effort to cover both sides, while Riauonline.co.id seemed inclined to defend the reported party by presenting sources only from the lawyers of the reported parties. In the script structure, Cakaplah.com emphasizes the how element, to explain that the complainant is a person who must be protected, while Riauonline.co.id emphasizes the what element, which explains that until there is a court decision the reported person cannot be accused of being a guilty person. The thematic structure on Cakaplah.com displays details that seem to form a bad image of the reported party, while Riauonline.co.id tends to create a good image of the reported party. Rhetorically, the researcher sees Cakaplah.com using words that invite readers' empathy, such as obscenity, being molested, criminal, depression, suffocating, coercion and others. While Riauonline.co.id chose words that seemed to see this case from the side of the reported person, such as accusations, objections, slander, predictions, 100 percent sure and others.
