Pengembangan Alat Peraga Ipa Integrasi Stem Berbasis Pjbl Untuk Melatih Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Dan Motivasi Belajar Siswa Smp Pada Materi Sistem Ekskresi
The developed STEM integration-based science teaching aid on the human
excretory system materials has become a solution to the problems found through
research needs analysis questionnaires, namely, the STEM learning has not been
found in the human excretory system materials, and there is still a lack of learning
application in PjBL-based junior high school. This research aims to determine the
validity of PjBL-based STEM integration teaching aids on the developed human
excretory system materials and the effect of the developed teaching aids on
improving students' critical thinking skills and learning motivation on the human
excretory system materials.
This research consisted of two stages. The first stage was developing
teaching aids using Research & Development through the ADDIE approach in the
Master Program of UNRI's FKIP (Faculty of Teacher Training and Education).
The second stage involved experiments at the SMPN 23 Pekanbaru. The
validation stage for teaching aids and LKPD (student's worksheet) involved three
subjects (3 expert lecturers). The experts used validation sheets for the feasibility
assessment. The practicality test stage involved 12 students. The questionnaire
responses, namely the students' responses, were used to assess the practicality of
teaching aids and LKPD. Data analysis used descriptive analysis supported by
Microsoft Office Excel 2021. The experimental stage was to see the effect of the
developed teaching aids and LKPD on students' critical thinking and motivation.
Students' critical thinking was evaluated using pre-test and post-test critical
thinking skills questions, while learning motivation was evaluated using pre-test
and post-test learning motivation questionnaires. Data analysis used IBM SPSS
Statistics 23 software.
The research's results on the development of teaching aids showed that the
feasibility value by the first, second, and third material experts with an average of
3.51 categories was very valid. Students' practicality test showed practicality with
an average of 3.22. It showed that the PjBL-based STEM integration teaching aid
produced in this research was considered feasible to be used in learning human
excretory system materials.
The results of the experimental stage of the research showed that there
was a significant effect of using PjBL-based STEM integration teaching aids on
students' critical thinking skills and learning motivation, with the less critical
categories in the experimental critical thinking class increasing from 56.21 before
treatment to critical categories of 79.35 after treatment, while the less critical
categories in the control class decreased from 55.24 to 58.48. The learning
motivation of the experimental class obtained an average pre-test score of 59.1 in
the medium category to a post-test average of 79.8 in the high category. In
contrast, the pre-test in the control class obtained an average of 58.8 in the
medium category, and the post-test average was 61.2 in the medium category,
xvi
indicating that the experimental class was further improved in critical thinking
and learning motivation compared to the control class.
This research concludes that developing PjBL-based STEM integration
teaching aids on the human excretory system materials is very valid. Using the
developed teaching aids can improve students' critical thinking and learning
motivation.
