ABSTRACT
This study was held at Situngkir Medicine Muara Fajar, Pekanbaru. The purpose of this study is to observe the main factors that affected the peoples on having medical treatment at Situngkir Medicine. This study was used descriptive qualitative method. The subject of this study was determined by using Acidental Sampling Technique which specifically used to take random samples on the research’s site. According to the predetermined criteria, 5 informants has been choosen as the subjects of this study regarding the factors that affected the society on having medical treatment at Situngkir medicine. The theory being used on this study is HBM Theory (Health Belief Model), which is a model that found by Rosenstock. The result of this study is the informant as the pacient that have medical treatment at Situngkir’s have 6 factors which are Perceived Severity/ Seriousness also known as the severity level of an illness, Perceived Susceptibility also known as the vulnerability or risk of the disease, Perceived Benefits also known as the benefit that received by the subject, Perceived Barriers also known as the obstacle experienced by the subject, Cues to Action also known as the decision making based on the outside recommendation, Self-efficacy also known as the individual’s belief in taking an action. On this study, the consideration of society’s in choosing medical treatment at Situngkir is that they had tried to have medical treatment on various places until they finally choose to have medical treatment at Situngkir.
