Penentuan Komoditas Dan Kawasan Unggulan Subsektor Perkebunan Di Kabupaten Rokan Hulu
In the context of regional development, regional development directions are
needed based on the availability of resources, so that regional development
directions can be directed and run well. In general, the goals of regional
development are equity, economic growth, and sustainability so that the region can
develop to the desired level. The ability to utilize the potential resources available
in the region is a regional potential-based regional development planning business
technique. One of the solutions in regional development is the development of
superior commodities, with the intention that these commodities can be able to
support regional economic growth and people's welfare.
The purpose of this study was to identify and determine the leading
commodities in the plantation sub-sector in Rokan Hulu Regency and to determine
the leading production areas for the plantation sub-sector in Rokan Hulu Regency.
Leading commodities are determined based on analysis of Sectoral Contribution
Index (SCI), Growth Ratio Model (GRM), Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ),
Location Quotient (LQ) and Composite Index. Meanwhile, the determination of
superior production areas for the plantation sub-sector is carried out using a
Geographic Information System with Getis-Ord Gi* Hot Spot analysis.
Based on the results of the analysis, it can be identified that the leading
commodities in the plantation sub-sector are Palm Commodities found in Bonai
and Kabun Districts; Coconut Commodities are found in Tambusai, North
Tambusai and Tandun Districts; Rubber commodities are found in the Districts of
Rambah, Kunto Darussalam and Pendalian; The coffee commodity is located in the
Bangun Purba District; Cocoa commodity is found in Ujung Batu District. And the
results of determining the leading commodities in the plantation sub-sector in
Rokan Hulu Regency, namely Rubber Commodities and Palm Oil Commodities.
The Getis-Ord Gi* Hot Spot analysis shows the location of the leading areas
in the plantation sub-sector based on production value, namely in Tambusai
District, where there are four plantation commodities grouped in the Tambusai
region. The results of this study are expected to be input in determining the superior
commodities of plantation crops and the development of agropolitan areas in Rokan
Hulu Regency.
