Implementasi Komunikasi Pendidikan Melalui E-Learning Pada Universitas Terbuka Kota Pekanbaru
Technological advances affect all sectors of human life in various fields
including education. The importance of using technology for the world of
education will certainly be in line with the increasingly complex and complicated
educational activities that are currently demanded to be efficient without reducing
their effectiveness. The Open University is a tertiary institution that has used elearning
media. As a university with a distance education method, the Open
University has used e-learning as a learning medium in delivering learning
material to its students. Learning does not solely depend on the progress and
sophistication of technology alone, but the role of educators and the
communication that is built between educators and students is an aspect that
should not be forgotten. The purpose of this study was to determine the
implementation of educational communication through E-Learning at the
Pekanbaru City Open University.
This study uses a type of qualitative research with a descriptive research
design. The research was conducted at the Open University of Pekanbaru, when
the research was carried out from May 2022 and took up to nine months to
complete. In this study the technique used is the purposive technique. Methods of
data collection using the method of observation, interviews and documentation. In
this study, researchers used Huberman and Miles' interactive model in analyzing
research data.
The results showed that the clarity of information was obtained by students
from learning materials in video format, the accuracy of information was
influenced by technical, semantic and behavioral barriers, the context of
information had been adapted to the syllabus, the flow of communication had
used a two-way communication channel between tutors and students, the culture
of communication was not all tutors use regional languages to approach students
from diverse regions.
