Analisis Emisi Gas Karbon Monoksida (Co) Dari Aktivitas Pembakaran Briket Ampas Sagu Dengan Variasi Bentuk Briket
ABSTRACT
Sago plup is a waste resulting from the processing of sago starch and is not used optimally. In this study, the processing of sago plup into briquettes was carried out. In using briquettes through a combustion process that will emit Carbon Monoxide (CO) gas. This study aims to determine the characteristics of briquettes, combustion characteristics, concentration of Carbon Monoxide (CO) gas, and the effect of the form of sago pulp briquettes on the resulting Carbon Monoxide (CO) gas emissions. Measurement of Carbon Monoxide (CO) gas was carried out using an Environmental Combustion Analyzer Model 450 for 15 minutes with a variety of briquette shapes, namely hollow cylinders, solid cylinders, prisms, and cubes. The results of this study showed that the water content, volatile matter, ash, fixed carbon, calorific value, and carbon content of sago pulp briquettes were 8.22%, 30.51%, 22.01%, 39,26%, 4,599 cal/gr, and 56.85%. The most optimal combustion characteristics of briquettes are hollow cylinder briquettes because they have the fastest ignition time, which only takes 09.31,79 minutes and the fastest burning rate, which is 0.050 gr/second. The results of measuring the concentration of CO gas from burning sago pulp briquettes for hollow cylinders were 404 mg/Nm3, solid cylinders were 473 mg/Nm3, prisms were 467 mg/Nm3, and cubes were 407 mg/Nm3, which were below the quality standards of the Ministerial Regulations. Energy and Mineral Resources Number 47 of 2006 Based on the results of the study, it was shown that there was an effect of variations in the shape of the briquettes on the concentration of CO gas produced from burning sago pulp briquettes, where the hollow cylinder-shaped briquettes were the best because they had the lowest concentration of CO gas, namely 404 mg/Nm3.
