Prarancangan Pabrik Anilin Proses Dupont/Kellog Brown And Root Dengan Desain Alat Utama Reaktor Nitrasi Benzena (R-101)
ABSTRACT
Aniline is a chemical that can be made from a number of ways and materials, and is used to make various kinds of chemical products. In the current industrial era, aniline has an important role and is widely used as an ingredient for producing isocyanates, rubber-making chemicals, and pesticide-making ingredients. The raw materials used in the manufacture of aniline by the dupont/kellogg brown and root process are benzene and mixed acid (nitric acid and sulfuric acid). This plant is planned to operate for 330 days per year and work continuously for 24 hours/day with a capacity of 40.000 tons/year which will be established in Cilegon, Banten. The remaining time during the operation process is used for shutdown, plant maintenance, equipment maintenance and repair. The form of the company chosen is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a line and staff organizational system. The employee work system is based on the division of working hours divide of shift and non-shift employees. The major design equipment in this plant is the nitration reactor (R-101) which functions to react benzene with mixed acids to produce nitrobenzene. The nitration reactor is operated at a pressure of 1 atm and a temperature of 50 ⁰C. Economic analysis design of this plant shows that the aluminum sulfate plant is feasible to establish. The Break Event Point (BEP) is 40%, Rate of Investment (ROI) is 26,1 %, Interest Rate of Return (IRR) is 22,73 %, and Pay Back Period (PBP) of 2,80 years.
