Pengaruh Variasi Pemanfaatan Limbah Fly Ash Batubara Dengan Penambahan Admixture Silica Fume Terhadap Kuat Tekan Dan Penyerapan Air Paving Block
ABSTRACT
Paving blocks are building materials made of various mixtures of hydraulic adhesive materials, cement, water, aggregates and additives that do not reduce the quality value of concrete. Various studies to develop materials that can replace cement and become additional materials for paving blocks are currently being carried out. Coal fly ash waste is one of the waste left over from coal combustion from steam power plants (PLTU) that can be used in the development industry. The main components contained in fly ash are SiO2 and Al2O3 so that it is pozzolan. This study aims to study the use of coal fly ash waste as a substitute for cement in the paving block manufacturing mixture. The quality of paving blocks is determined by testing compressive strength and water absorption. This study was designed with a ratio of cement mixture and sand aggregate, namely 1:4, fly ash variation of 15%, 30%, 45%, addition of 5% silica fume admixture with mold dimensions of 10 cm long, 10 cm wide, and 6 cm in height / thickness. The bound variables are the compressive strength value and the percentage of water absorption value which refers to SNI 03-0691-1996. The results showed that paving blocks using fly ash increased the compressive strength value at a variation of 30%, namely 19.13 MPa and decreased the water absorption value by 5.24%. Based on testing and compared with SNI 03-0691-1996 paving blocks in this study still meet the B quality standards as set.
