Prarancangan Pabrik Phenol Dengan Proses Versalis/Lummus Technology Dengan Desain Alat Utama Reaktor Bubble Column (R-101)
ABSTRACT
Phenol (C6H6O) is one of the intermediate materials that is needed for the downstream and advanced intermediary industries. Establishment of a phenol factory with a capacity of 250,000 tons/year in Dumai, Riau, to meet domestic demand for phenol and become an export commodity in several Southeast Asian countries. Phenol is produced using the versalis/Lummus Technology process, with the main ingredients being cumene and oxygen. The factory is planned to operate for 330 days a year so that the remaining time is used for shutdown and maintenance and repair of factory equipment. The form of the company chosen is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a line and staff organizational system. The employee work system is based on the division of working hours consisting of shift and non-shift employees. The major design in this design is a bubble column reactor (R-101) which functions to react cumene and oxygen to produce cumene hydroperoxide. Based on the design results, the R-101 reactor specifications were obtained with a height of 23 m and a diameter of 5.5 m. Based on the results of the factory economic analysis, the Break Even Point (BEP) value was 28.86%, the Rate of Investment (ROI) was 45.16%, the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) was 22.75% and the Payback Period was 1.72%. years, so it can be concluded that this phenol factory is feasible to establish.
