ABSTRACK
MANAGEMENT OF RRI PRO 2 PEKANBARU IN FACING EXISTENCE IN THE DIGITAL ERA

The digital era has caused the broadcasting industry such as Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) to make various efforts to face existence in the digital era. One of its efforts is by developing media, as done by RRI Pro 2 Pekanbaru which is currently turning into digital radio and converging media to provide multiplatform-based services that make it easier for listeners to access broadcasts. Therefore, RRI Pro 2 Pekanbaru requires management in managing existing resources in order to achieve the goals set. This study aims to determine the management activities of RRI Pro 2 Pekanbaru starting from planning, organizing, directing and providing influence and controlling in facing existence in the digital era.
This research uses qualitative research methods with a descriptive approach. The subjects of this study numbered five people determined by purposive techniques. Data collection was carried out by participatory observation, semi-structural interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques by reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. The technique of checking the validity of the data uses source triangulation and triangulation techniques.
The results showed that RRI Pro 2 Pekanbaru carried out planning by establishing strategic plans and operational plans as digital radios that provide multiplatform-based services to listeners in various media, organizing was carried out by competent human resources in their fields and technological literacy arranged in an organizational structure and division of labor that has not been carried out evenly due to multiple positions, direction and influence are given by leaders through motivation by meeting employee needs, communication is carried out both ways, having qualified leaders and holding training in the form of Diklat Terpusat and internal training in facing the digital era, as well as controlling carried out by the RRI Pusat, namely the Dewan Pengawas and Satuan Pengawas Intern, where RRI Pekanbaru is included in the Bidang Pengawasan II area and the supervision process of RRI Pro 2 Pekanbaru is carried out by monitoring broadcasting off air, on air or live streaming and then evaluated in a meeting.
