Analisis Pengaruh Filler Ratio Dan Ash Content Terhadap Caliper Pada Grade Kertas Cr, Mr, Dan Or
ABSTRACT
An analysis of the effect of filler ratio and ash content on calipers has been carried out on several paper grades. This final project aims to determine the impacts of filler ratio and ash content on several paper grades to increase the runnability of paper machines in producing these grades. This caliper or thickness measures the thickness of a sheet of paper in micrometer units (μm). In this final project, two independent variables are used, namely filler ratio and ash content, with the dependent variable being the caliper. The analytical method used was to collect process data on grades CR04070B, CR04080B, MR080700, MR080800, OR060700, and OR060800 from October 2022 to January 2023. Then the data was classified and analyzed using a scatter chart. Based on the results of the analysis that has been done, it can be concluded that the relationship between filler ratio and ash content to caliper values on CR, MR, and OR paper grades is influenced by the caliper target to be achieved. Where, the higher the caliper target to be achieved, the higher the filler ratio used, and conversely, the greater the ash content value, the paper caliper will decrease. The grades CR04070B, MR080700, OR060700, CR04080B, MR080800, and OR060800 have a filler ratio range of 70 – 90%, 70 – 85%, 70 – 90%, 70 – 90%, 25 – 70% and 30 – respectively. 65%. And, the range of ash content respectively is 21 – 24%, 20.5 – 23.5%, 20.5 – 22.5%, 21.5 – 24%, 21 – 25%, and 23.9 – 24.2% so that each production grade can be controlled by production costs without reducing the quality of the paper produced so as to provide benefits for customers and companies.
