“Pengaruh Acid Wash Terhadap Konsumsi Power Di Chlorate Cell Chlorine Dioxide Plant#1”
ABSTRACT
Chlorate cell is one of the equipment used in the production of sodium chlorate, especially in Chlorine Dioxide Plant 1, Chlorine Dioxide Plant 2, and Chlorine Dioxide Plant 5. This Equipment is used to electrolyze salt into sodium chlorate, where sodium chlorate is needed to produce chlorine dioxide (ClO2) in ClO2 Plant. Using Chlorate cells for a certain period of time can result in the accumulation of impurities on the electrodes, which causes power consumption to increase. This final project aims to study the effect of the acid wash process on power consumption in Chlorate cell Chlorine Dioxide Plant#1. Based on the data obtained, it is known that impurities affect voltage and power consumption. Before the acid wash process on the chlorate cell, the voltage and power consumption of the cell were higher than the voltage and power consumption after the chlorate cell was cleaned by the acid wash process. In February 2022, the highest voltage value was 3.07 V with a power consumption of 245.6 W, while the lowest voltage was 2.93 V with a power consumption of 234.4 W in June 2022.
