Analisa Pengaruh Konsumsi White Liquor Terhadap Kappa Number Pre O2 Kraft Pulping Digester Fiberline #2
ABSTRACT
Kraft Pulping uses active chemicals to separate cellulose and hemicellulose from lignin and extractive substances. Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) and Sodium Sulfide (Na2S) are the main ingredients in White Liquor which play a role in degrading lignin. The amount of ratio between liquor to raw materials must be known so that lignin can be completely dissolved in the cooking liquid. Kappa Number is one of the determinants of the quality of pulp produced and maintained in the range of 15 – 16. This study aims to determine the effect of the amount of White Liquor consumption on Kappa Number Pre O2 using quantitative analysis and calculation methods. The results showed that the amount of use of White Liquor depends on the number of Tonnage Chips to be cooked, this is shown by the correlation between White Liquor and Tonnage Chips of 0.8832. The smallest difference in the use of White Liquor that has been set to the actual White Liquor needs of ± 0.89 m3, the amount of use of White Liquor consumption affects the change in the value of Kappa Number Pre O2. This change is caused by a fairly strong relationship between Kappa Number Pre O2 and White Liquor consumption with a correlation value of 0.7732. The amount of White Liquor consumption volume that has been determined ranges from 133.33 m3 while the difference to the lowest actual White Liquor consumption needs is at 132.44 m3 and 134.22 m3.
