ABSTRACT
Sweet orange is an orange variety that has high popularity and demand in
Indonesia. This is because citrus fruits contain vitamin C and vitamin A which are
important for health. In addition, the advantage of sweet orange is its availability
throughout the year. This study aims to determine the performance of sweet
orange farming, analyze the income of sweet orange farming and compare the
income results from sweet orange farming in Pak Nizab's business with other
sweet orange farmers in Slope Village, Kuok District, Kampar Regency. The
analysis method used is a qualitative method, which is to find out the performance
of sweet orange farming in Mr. Nizab's business in the form of descriptions,
tables, or charts and quantitative methods, namely knowing the farmer's income
financially and comparing the results of income from sweet orange farming in Mr.
Nizab's business with other sweet orange farming. Based on the results of the
discussion, the demonstration of sweet orange farming for Slope Village farmers
is mostly carried out simply, especially in fertilization activities. The use of
manure and KCL (liquid) fertilizer in farmers has not been in accordance with the
recommended dosage. The inputs used in sweet orange farming consist of
equipment, fertilizers, pesticides, and labor. Furthermore, the production costs
incurred by sweet orange farmers in Lereng Village consist of fixed costs of
Rp.3.681.250,- and variable costs of Rp.5.655.000,-. The total cost incurred by
Mr. Nizab's business in the 2021 period is Rp.9.336.250,-/Ha. So that the income
received by sweet orange farmers in Slope Village is Rp.26.663.750,-/Ha.
Meanwhile, the comparison of the income of Mr. Nizab's sweet orange farming
with other sweet orange farming is Rp.26.663.750,- per year and the sweet orange
farming in Sari's research is Rp.30.771.249,- per year. So it can be concluded that
the sweet orange farming in Sari's research is greater than the income of farmers
than Mr. Nizab's business, because of the lack of maintenance and factors that
affect production costs.
