Koefisien Absorbsi Dinding Akustik Dengan Komposisi Bahan Pelepah Kelapa Sawit
ABSTRACT
Noise is a major issue for people who live near roads or other noisy places. Sound absorbers are a good solution to this problem. This study aims to determine the absorption coefficient of the acoustic wall with a composition of palm fronds with a thickness of 3 cm and varying frond mass of 0.1 kg, 0.15 kg and 0.2 kg. This research used an impedance tube and the transfer function approach with two microphones. This study also used two impedance tube constructions with distance codes A (45 cm) and B (55 cm). The frequency applied in this work were 125 Hz, 250 Hz, 500 Hz, 1000 Hz and 2000 Hz. At distance A, all mass variations have the lowest absorption coefficient (0.233-0.494) at a frequency of 250 Hz and 2000 Hz while the highest coefficient (0.531-0.979) at a frequency of 125 Hz, 500 Hz and 1000 Hz. On the other hand, at distance B the absorption coefficient is lowest (0.311-0.483) at frequencies of 125 Hz, 250 Hz and 2000 Hz. The highest coefficient was in the range of 0.572 to 0.721 at a frequency of 500 Hz and 1000 Hz. All mass samples show that palm fronds have good sound absorption due to its high absorption coefficient.
